The first steps were taken in early 2014. The founders had already been active in the operational management of a bicycle courier company for years. During this time, they were mainly working on a way to make the planning and administrative processing of orders more efficient. This new tool was soon shared with other courier companies.
Years of experience in the courier industry and city logistics led to the creation of a platform that not only simplified planning and administration in bicycle courier companies, but also enabled complex route optimization. Integrations with many external systems were made possible. The name Veloyd was also created during this period.
Veloyd is a degeneration of ‘Velo’ and ‘IT’ and is a lasting memory of that early period. The platform developed more and more into complete planning software and continued as an independent company.
Step by step, Veloyd has grown into a complete Transport Management System for logistic planning for courier and transport companies. In the meantime, the customer portfolio has been greatly expanded and Veloyd offers suitable solutions for courier companies with local to national coverage, pharmacies, business post companies, bookstores, city hubs and more.
Veloyd works closely together with its customers. Customer wishes are continuously mapped out and implemented where possible (in a common interest). In this way, the software continues to connect with our customers and the market.
